In this article, written for retreat centers and leaders using Retreat Booking Guru software, we'll cover the basics of listing on the retreat.guru Marketplace.
- Set up Marketplace Profile
- Messages
- Program Marketplace Tab
- Review Your Marketplace Listing on retreat.guru
- Viewing Your Marketplace Bookings
In-App Marketplace Area
Navigate to the Marketplace area from the admin side panel to edit/view your Profile and see your Messages. If you don't see this option, please reach out to support@retreat.guru to enable this on your account.
Set up your Marketplace Profile
Your profile on the marketplace is the place to share the features of your center, tell your story, where past guests can post reviews and see all of your offerings.
Some fields from your profile will auto-populate into your Programs Marketplace Tab to save you from re-entering the same information for each program. It's important to note that these fields are only visible on retreat.guru and will not appear anywhere else.
For those who don't not have a physical retreat center, use the Marketplace Profile as a brand page that shares general information about you as a retreat organizer.
Photo Gallery
Upload images to showcase your center and give an overall feel of the environment you provide. These images will show potential guests what they could expect when arriving at your center, what your team is like, and what classes or meals may look like when on retreat.
You can also add images into the body of your profile but it is important to have a high-quality gallery with at least 5 images. The first image acts as a featured image for your profile, to re-order your images drag and drop a photo into the right place. We recommend your images are high quality and at least 1024 pixels wide.
Check out our Photo Posting Policy for more information on this.
Brand Video
If you have a promotional or introduction video for your center this is where you can paste the link. This is something retreat seekers love to see, if you have a brand video or venue tour, it's important to add it in. If you add a brand video it will show up at the top of your profile.
*This field supports YouTube and public Vimeo video links. YouTube Shorts are not supported.
Retreat Types
This general category helps future guests find your offerings on the Marketplace.
Select a general topic and sub-topic, like Yoga Teacher Training, that best describes the offerings at your center. If your offerings are more broad, simply select the main topic, like Yoga, instead.
One topic (or sub-topic) must be selected to publish on the Marketplace.
*You can use a different topic or sub-topic on specific programs. You profile topic should be general or your most common retreat type.
Topic Tags
Tags (or keywords/hashtags) are another way for guests to find you using keywords in our search. Topic tags should be the words someone would use to find you in the search bar. In these cases, less is more. Too many tags do not help you become more visible on retreat.guru.
We recommend you avoid location tags and common retreat words like retreat, yoga, summer, healing, spirituality, etc. as they are covered in your name, program titles and descriptions which are also used for our search. Instead use topic tags that are more specific to your offerings. For example: ytt, silence, community, jungle, ecstatic, dance.
Other Sections
Event Highlights, What's Included, What's Not Included, Maximum Group Size, Accommodation Options, Venue, etc. all are typically program dependent. Fill in these sections on your Profile Page to save you time when creating your Program listings on the marketplace.
Location / Address
It's important to include your complete retreat center address here so that guests can book their trips accordingly.
Accuracy is important - this field will generate a location tag on the marketplace to help guests find retreats in areas that work best for them on our map tool or "Retreat Near Me" pages.
If events are held in different locations, you can update those on a per-program basis on the Program > Marketplace Tab.
Messages
Your retreat.guru Marketplace Profile and Program Listings have a contact form link for potential guests to ask questions before they book with you.
Access your messages from Marketplace > Messages to review and reply to messages. You will receive message notifications via email when you are logged out of the software. These will be sent to your registrar contact email. When you are logged in no email will be sent. To ensure you never miss a message, we recommend enabling Browser Notifications.
Program Marketplace Tab
When building a Program you'll see the Marketplace tab on the right.
Note that fields in this tab are only visible on retreat.guru and will not appear on your website.
When scrolling through the Marketplace Tab you will see check boxes to indicate if specific sections are the same as your profile.
If you leave this selection checked the information from the corresponding field on your Marketplace Profile will be copied over.
Un-check the same as profile box if you'd like to adjust the information to be more specific to the program listing you are creating.
Choose which programs are listed on the Marketplace
We understand that some programs may not be the right fit for the marketplace or you may not need the marketing support in the early registration stages.
You have the ability to choose if a specific event is listed on the marketplace or not.
Disable the Remove from Marketplace toggle to ensure the listing will be visible on the retreat.guru. Changes made in the Marketplace Tab of a Program will only apply to the program you are editing.
For example:
Drala Yoga has an event that is popular with their regular guests. They choose to list the program only on their website by enabling the Remove from Marketplace toggle when they publish their program.
Two months before the program starts there is still room available so they would like to add this program to retreat.guru in hopes of filling up the remaining spots.
They then can toggle off the "Remove from Marketplace" slider to list the program on retreat.guru.
Review Your Marketplace Program Listing on retreat.guru
Once you've completed and saved the Marketplace Tab for your Program, you can view the listing by clicking "View in Marketplace".
You can also see your Marketplace Program Listing by clicking the link from the Programs list.
View Your Marketplace Bookings
Navigate to your registrations list, any registrations considered a Marketplace booking can be identified by the Retreat Guru logo next to the guests name.
