Speed Keys to Add Items

Enable your team to easily and quickly add items to a registration and maintain consistency for reporting.

Does your center operate a small bookstore, snack bar, or gift shop? Does your reception or front desk staff often add certain items to guest statements? If so, this feature may save you time and make reporting more reliable!

This special feature is available only with certain software subscription plans. Not sure if your center qualifies? Ask your friendly support guru.

Here's a quick look at the Speed Keys to Add Items feature (a.k.a. Mini POS) on the edit registration view.

Configure Speed Keys

Go to Reg Settings > Transactions > POS (Point-of-Sale).

Choose Add Another to create a new speed key or modify an existing key.

Enter a short title that will be displayed on the key, add a price, and choose a transaction category. You may also choose a key color. Click and hold the hamburger icon located to the left of the title, and drag and drop to arrange key display order.

In the above example, Ironing board and Flashlight are configured with a zero dollar value. Centers use such zero dollar value items to track loaned items - the items appear on the guest statement while the items are on loan, and the item is removed (or reversed) when the item is returned.

Add items to a registration

When this feature is enabled, an Open POS button will appear in the Edit Registration view (also known as the participant dashboard).

Click on Open POS to display the speed keys.

Click on an item, for example, Cookbook, and that item will appear in the grey bar. You may click on additional items. When the desired item(s) have been selected, click on Add items.

The item(s) will now appear on the registration.

And, on the guest statement.

Editing the added item

Upon adding an item using this method, you may then click on Edit next to that transaction line item to add a note or adjust the price.
