For retreat professionals who work with plant medicines and require payment processing.
The Medicine Not Included (MNI) model is designed to support your retreat center in maintaining safe and secure payment processing when providing plant medicine services on your retreats.
To benefit from the Medicine Not Included (MNI) model, no charges for plant medicine can be included in credit card payments.
Compliance
We've worked on building trust through transparency with secure payment processors to help you integrate credit card payments with Retreat Booking Guru at a fair credit card processing rate. Please embrace the spirit of transparency when applying and communicating with your new payment processor.
Retreat Guru cannot guarantee your merchant account approval from the new payment processor, but our team is here to support you throughout the application, set up, and ongoing compliance.
To remain compliant, you must follow the setup below for all programs (including pre-existing active programs) that include plant medicines or similar products.
You must include these items on your initial registration forms:
- A message banner above price selections to confirm that no plant medicine is included in the credit card payments processed or the price of the retreat. See Program Feature.
- A specific question where the guest confirms that they agree that no plant medicine is included in the credit card payment or price of the retreat. See Registration Form Question.
Program Feature
Once the Medicine Not Included feature is enabled on your account, you will see a new section on the Program Edit Page > Pricing Tab below your price selections.
- Additional cost for plant medicines & psychedelics: This section includes three options you can choose from for each program. The first option may vary slightly depending on your payment processor's requirements. New and existing programs will default to the first option once this feature is enabled, please review all programs open for registration to ensure the settings are accurate. Especially for events that do not include a plant medicine offering.
The three options are as follows:
- There will be no additional charges for plant medicine or psychedelics. OR Cost is less than $50 for the entire retreat.
- Specify a cost - enter in the amount per person that a guest should expect to pay directly to you for their plant medicine experience. Just to remind you, this separate payment cannot be paid through your credit card payment processor and must be arranged with the guest directly.
- Plant medicine will not be offered on this retreat - this option hides the plant medicine price banner. Use only for programs that have no plant medicine offerings.
- Edit Plant Medicine Text: you may adjust the words to be more specific for the plant medicine being used for this specific retreat or use words that provide a more comprehensive context.
Registration Form Question
To remain compliant a special question and Notification about Supplemental Products section are automatically added to your initial registration forms. Guests must agree to this question to complete registration. Text and additional price settings made to the MNI Program Feature Settings within a specific program will also be applied to the question.
It will display like the image below on your registration form and is a required question.
